My name is Diane Vukelich. I am a
Registered Nurse from the OLD SCHOOL.
I believe that every person should be treated with dignity and respect.
That everyone needs all the information possible to make every decision
that affects their life.
I have taken 10 years from 1990 - 2000 researching a way to combine
faith and nursing to teach wellness to a community.
The occurrence of a second major heart surgery and the knowledge that I
would never be able to return to my love of hospital floor duty nursing,
where I taught one on one to those who wish to improve their health,
brought to my attention a program that combined faith, nursing and
wellness into one; called Parish Nursing.
I then began to learn the fine details and Hands On aspects of Parish
Nursing through the Educational Process at Grant Riverside Methodist
Hospital Church Partnership Division in Columbus, Ohio, Memorial General
Hospital in Marysville, Ohio, and Otterbein College in Westerville,
Ohio.
Ohio Valley Parish Nursing is: the result of all the information
collected and offered to all faith communities within the tri-state
area; West Virginia, Ohio and Pennsylvania county regions within a 50
(or so) mile radius from Weirton, WV.
With the help and support of volunteers, groups, individuals and
business, Ohio Valley Parish Nursing offers non denominational health
and wellness ministries to area faith communities. Start up plans
through the teaching process Implementation of the basic assessment of
the community Actual program development.
Ohio Valley Parish Nursing then continues to be with in reach for
additional educational assistance a partner community should need.
Setting up the opportunity for continued educational units for medical
professionals. Researching new programs that are designed to fit a
specific community’s need. Offering Holistic programs to the general
public with in the tri-state region.
